Station 4, a gay nightclub in Dallas is taking heat online for not allowing two traveling gogo dancers and purple party attendees into the club during a circuit party event. This weekend is Purple Party weekend so it’s not exactly a normal club night bringing in more people than the club normally sees. Perhaps the management didn’t get the memo it was a circuit event nor do they have a dress code posted on the club’s website for issues such as this.
Judging from the photo they do seem to meet the requirements of the Purple Party rules that were stated here (unless were missing something):
- Proper attire is required at all events and the hotel. Texas law dictates: No nudity and no exposed bottoms allowed. Bare jockstraps and the like do not meet this requirement. This will be strictly enforced, and remember all of our events are no re-entry (except Roar and Ignite), so please dress appropriately. We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe, and abide by Texas regulations.
Station 4 and other clubs do have to follow TABC regulations and could be shut down or fined for not doing so.
The couple took to social media where they have over 24,000 followers on Twitter to complain of the incident.
People wrote back saying:
“Yes i can (see why they were not let inside). Itβs not that kind of club. Also there 18 under in there and it became to mixed with straight and gay. That was my first ever club to ever go to in my life when i was 17 haha hate it now itβs not the same”
Although this comment makes no sense because Station 4 is always 18 and up on Friday nights and hasn’t been 17 and up since before the last Village Station.
“Damn fools, they should have asked if they could use your pics for up coming advertising for the place!”
The couple responded on their Twitter (Steven Lee @gaygringo_) saying “Itβs Purple Party weekend and we followed the dress code that purple sent out π€·πΌββοΈ.” One of the guys involved is a Gogo Dancer at Tracks in Denver and a Falcon studios model.
Our favorite comment is a person who said “For a community begging for acceptance we sure do love branding and breeding our own kind of exclusivity and hate.”
We can understand this happening at the Lizard Lounge who is known for highly strict dress codes but we have literally seen people having sex in the bathrooms at Station 4 on regular club nights so this kind of comes as a surprise.
We have heard from a few others of not being let inside the nightclub before but it’s rare we hear about it during an event such as this one.
